A Step by Step Guide to Selecting, Booking & Having a Hawaii Wedding or San Diego Wedding

How It Works

Often times, clients call or email saying they aren't sure how it works or what to do. This page is all about answering the question how we work, what you need to do and how things will unfold for your Hawaii wedding or San Diego wedding.

  1. Review our website - Seems obvious but it truly is the first step. Review our website and select the services, location and/or package that speaks to you the most. Make notes and write down any questions you may have.
  2. Call or email us - We don't bite and we aren't used car salesmen so you have nothing to fear or risk by calling us. In fact, you have everything to gain by calling us as we can often save you time, make recommendations as well as save you money. Phone is our preferred method but email is fine as well. During our initial conversation, we will ask the following questions and it is very helpful for all concerned if you are able to answer them.
    1. What is your wedding date? - You should have a date or date range
    2. How many people do you expect? - You don't need to know your exact guest count but a realistic expected guest count is needed
    3. What package or service are you interested in?
    4. If doing things ala carte, what is your budget?
    5. What location or location type are you interested in?
    6. What questions do you have?
    7. We will ask you to tell us about what you want for your wedding.

    With the information you provide, we will make recommendations, offer advice and help you create a wedding that fits your needs.

  3. Book Your Hawaii Wedding or San Diego Wedding - Once you have made your final selections, we'll email you a Hawaii wedding booking form or a San Diego wedding booking form for your wedding based upon the packages or services you have selected. You'll need to print out the form, complete it and send it back to us. You can scan and email it, fax it or send by postal mail. Also at this time, you'll need to pay your retainer payment. Retainer payments are non-refundable and vary in rate. Once we receive both your completed booking form and your retainer payment, we will email you confirmation and your wedding is confirmed.

    How It Works

  4. Make Selections & Communicate - After your Hawaii wedding or San Diego wedding is booked, we'll email you a vendor report and timeline for your wedding. However, the elements in this report are a starting point and may change. Over time, as you make your final selections on flowers, vows, bridal party, guest count, etc... you'll need to inform us of your selections and keep us up to date on any changes. Also, if at any time you have any questions, comments or concerns you'll need to call or email us with that as well. We are happy to help. Most clients find this part of the wedding process extremely easy and are waiting for their day to arrive more than anything.
  5. 30 Day Deadline - All final selections, requests, information, final guest count and more are required no less than 30 days prior to your event date. This is a key deadline and when all final decisions on your entire Hawaii wedding or San Diego wedding are due by.
  6. Three Week Finalization - About three weeks prior to your Hawaii wedding or San Diego wedding we'll email you a new timeline and vendor report which will reflect your requests and changes to your wedding. You'll review this information and give your final confirmation on all details. Your final wedding balance will be due as well.
  7. Arrival - Once you arrive in Hawaii or California, you'll need to do the following:
    1. Secure your marriage license
    2. Call us and let us know you arrived safely. You'll also need to provide your hotel name, room number and local contact number.
    3. Call the pastor or wedding officiant to discuss the ceremony wording and details
    4. Drive to the ceremony site to ensure you know where you are going and like the location
  8. Get Married - Every clients Hawaii wedding or San Diego wedding is a little different than the next. However, simply follow the timeline, details and instructions that we have already provided for you in the planning phase. Relax. Get Married. Enjoy your Day!

    How It Works

  9. Enjoy Your Honeymoon - After your Hawaii wedding or San Diego wedding, we recommend you forget all about the wedding itself and focus on enjoying your honeymoon. You'll be back in reality soon enough so enjoy the break while you have it.
  10. Select Your Images - Your wedding images will be available to view in about 2-3 weeks after the wedding. You'll be able to view all the images. After viewing them, you can select which images you want on a cd, what prints you want and how you want to use your print credit. Prints, CD and other products will be mailed directly to you. You have a max of three months after the wedding to select your photos.
  11. Receive - After your Hawaii wedding or San Diego wedding you'll receive your legal copy of your marriage license directly from the state. The state takes a long time to issue Hawaii wedding or San Diego wedding certificates so be prepared to wait several weeks if not months. If you have a slideshow, fusion or video it will also be mailed to you in about 3-6 weeks after the wedding. Prints, CD and albums will arrive in the mail after your selections have been made.
  12. Live Happily Ever After - Marriage may not be a fairytale but that doesn't mean you can't live happily ever after!
